My experience with Pro Passion Projects - Veterinary Internship & Wildlife Volunteering in Ghana

I completed my placement with Pro-Passion Projects through the Veterinary Internship & Wildlife Volunteering programme from June 30th to July 28th, 2026. Overall, it was an incredibly exciting, educational, and personally rewarding experience. ​The placement provided fantastic hands-on clinical exposure at La Veterinary Hospital in Accra, as well as unforgettable field visits to places like Aqua Safari and Safari Valley alongside the local veterinarian. Getting to work with animals I had never encountered before back home—including turtles, parrots, and wildlife species—was an amazing highlight. ​I would also highlight my communication with Joseph Odoteye positively. Before leaving, it was always easy to get in touch, and he generally responded quickly and thoroughly to any questions or concerns. ​Looking back on the experience as a whole, I am incredibly grateful that I went. Ghana gave me an incredible experience, and I feel that I have developed enormously, both personally and professionally. My advice to anyone considering the programme: go with an open mind, be prepared to take initiative, and enjoy the journey!
