Role:
As a journalism intern with Pro-Passion Projects, you will gain hands-on experience working with leading newspapers in Ghana. This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop your journalism skills while contributing to major news outlets in Accra.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting and Writing:
- Assist in researching and writing news articles, features, and editorials.
- Cover a variety of topics including current events, human interest stories, and local issues.
- Conduct interviews, gather information, and fact-check reports to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Editing and Proofreading:
- Support the editorial team by editing and proofreading articles for clarity, grammar, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Assist in reviewing content for publication and making necessary revisions.
- News Gathering:
- Attend press conferences, community events, and other newsworthy gatherings to collect information and report on developments.
- Collaborate with reporters and editors to ensure timely and comprehensive coverage of news stories.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide support in organizing and managing news materials, including archiving and filing.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to news production and editorial processes. 5. Media Monitoring:
- Track and analyze media trends and developments to provide insights and updates on current news topics.
- Prepare summaries and reports on media coverage and emerging issues.
Working Hours:
- Interns will work from Monday to Friday.
- Working hours are from 9 AM to 3 PM.
Additional Requirements:
- Interns are expected to adhere to the dress code appropriate for a professional newsroom.∙
- Interns must bring their own laptops.
Supervision:
- Interns will be supervised by seasoned Chief Editors at The Finder and The Daily Guide newspapers.
- They will also be on the field with assigned journalists to coordinate their work and gain practical experience.
