Project Overview

Join Pro-Passion Projects in the Environmental Science Project Africa, a unique initiative aimed at addressing some of the most pressing environmental challenges in Ghana. In collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology, this project offers volunteers and interns the opportunity to tackle illegal mining (galamsey), air pollution, and deforestation, while promoting sustainable practices and community development.

Key Objectives

  • Combat Illegal Mining (Galamsey): Work alongside government agencies to address the environmental damage caused by illegal mining and support the enforcement of sustainable mining practices.
  • Air Pollution Control: Participate in monitoring air quality and contribute to efforts to curb air pollution through community education and actionable solutions.
  • Reforestation and Land Restoration: Get involved in reforestation efforts and rehabilitate areas affected by illegal mining and deforestation.
  • Water Protection: Help monitor and protect local water sources from contamination caused by mining and industrial activities.
  • Climate Change Awareness: Organize educational campaigns to raise awareness about climate change and encourage community-driven solutions to mitigate its effects.
